Hi

I am Somang - an award winning illustrator, projection artist and nature lover based in London.

I honed my craft at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design and the Royal College of Art and have worked as a freelance illustrator since graduating in 2011.

My creative practice is informed by my love for nature, my joy in plants, wildlife and outdoor adventures.

My aim is to create illustrations that are both beautiful and useful - making use of the wonder of nature, to inspire others to get out there and be part of it.

I deliver illustrations about practical gardening and explorations of the natural world - whether it be a map to wild places, botanical illustration, a bouquet or an illustration of the ocean’s wildlife.

Some of my clients include the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, Pavilion Books, Oprah Magazine, Turner Contemporary, Towner Eastbourne, Museum of London Archaeology, Warner Music, The Serpentine Gallery, Shindagha Museum, Heckfield Place, Breathe Magazine, Westminster Council, Greater London Authority and The Times.

For commissions and inquiries please message me directly or book your free 15 minute consultation to get clarity on how illustration can help bring your unique message across in a fun and engaging way.

Here is another childhood memory of mine. My sister and I would spend summers in the Swabian alps with Oma and Opa. I remember the wildflower meadows being so tall that we called it ‘Wiesenmeer’ - sea of grass.
